Storm
i am a storm
chasing calm
my mind is racing
my speaking fast
words merge
ideas blur
i jump around
i jump to conclusions
we live inside our heads
rarely notice
incapable of rest
incapable of experiencing
the world to the full
i am constant motion
in pursuit of none.

Discussions on Pico Iyer’s The Art of Stillness with an epic student. Often the most enlightening travel can be going nowhere at all – “In an age of speed, nothing could be more invigorating than going slow. In an age of distraction, nothing could feel more luxurious than paying attention. And in an age of constant movement nothing is more urgent than sitting still” (Pico Iyer, The Art of Stillness, 2014).

Typoglycemia. Text Illusion. Illusory Conjunction. Call it whatever you want. You fill the gaps where you see fit. And you see what you want to see. I read “slow”.
